The Floral Hanger's roots date back to late 2014, when Brooke was a brand new 2nd Lieutenant, freshly commissioned out of the United States Air Force Academy. During her first assignment, Brooke realized she had way too many clothes for someone who wore a uniform most of the time, so she sought out ways to sell her barely used clothing online. Poshmark was one of the first search results that caught her eye, and Brooke started a personal closet that she sold her own items out of for about 4 years.
The Start of a Dream
In the summer of 2018, Brooke stumbled across a YouTube channel of a full-time, professional re-seller on Poshmark. She was immediately hooked, and introduced the thought of re-selling for profit to her husband, Daniel. They decided to close down Brooke's personal Poshmark and established their official business closet, The Floral Hanger. After several months of increased profit, they made the decision that this would be a part time source of income for their family, and they have continued to grow and develop their business ever since.
Business Growth
In July of 2019, Brooke completed her five year commitment as an Active Duty Air Force officer, and she separated as a Captain. She started a new, full-time career as a DoD Satellite Control Engineer, but she and her husband kept the re-selling dream alive. This provided an extra source of income for their family while allowing Daniel to stay home with their daughter, Peyton. Since that time, Brooke and Daniel have expanded their re-selling business to multiple platforms, to include Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Kidizen, and Etsy.
